Alexander Hamilton Institute for the Study of Western Civilization (AHI) Executive Director Robert Paquette was a featured speaker at the first-ever gathering of faculty from ACTA’s Oases of Excellence, sponsored by ACTA and the Fund for Academic Renewal in June. Paquette spoke on “Serving Students and Community: The Case for Independence.”

AHI Academic Adviser Robert George, also spoke on the Madison Program at Princeton, and Stephen H. Balch, member of the AHI’s Board of Directors, discussed the founding of the Institute for the Study of Western Civilization at Texas Tech University.

ACTA’s Oases of Excellence conference gathered faculty from across the country to discuss how to best renew American higher education from within the academy.
