H. Lee Cheek Jr., Senior Fellow at the Alexander Hamilton Institute for the Study of Western Civilization (AHI), recently published an op-ed in the Savannah Morning News, asking readers to “take long view of American liberty.”

In the op-ed, Cheek asks readers to reflect on “the foundations of our liberty that the American Founding — especially the Founders’ Declaration of Independence and Constitution — have encouraged. Neither the Declaration nor the American Constitution were accidents; both were rooted in an inherited worldview and an understanding of human nature that is of continuing importance to Americans today.”

H. Lee Cheek Jr., Ph.D., is professor of political science at East Georgia State College and an AHI Senior Fellow.
