The Alexander Hamilton Institute for the Study of Western Civilization (AHI) and Colgate’s Center for Freedom and Western Civilization will co-sponsor a public lecture by Dr. Mary P. Nichols, “Leaders and Leadership in Thucydides’s History.”  The event will take place Thursday, September 28, 7:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m., at 27 Persson Auditorium, Colgate University. The lecture is free of charge and open to the public.

Mary P. Nichols, an AHI Senior Fellow, is Professor of Political Science at Baylor University. She earned her Ph. D. in political science from the University of Chicago. She has written numerous books and articles in the history of political thought, women and political theory, and politics, literature, and film. Her primary area of expertise is Greek political theory. Her books include Thucydides and the Pursuit of Freedom (Cornell University Press, 2015).
