The Alexander Hamilton Institute for the Study of Western Civilization (AHI) will host a pre-Super Bowl event that features AHI Charter Fellow Douglas Ambrose.  He will speak on “The Ironies of The Federalist.”  The event, which is open to the public, will take place at AHI headquarters, 21 West Park Row, Clinton, New York, on Sunday, 2 January, from 4-6 pm.

Dr. Ambrose, Professor of History at Hamilton College, has won several teaching awards. He has published (with Robert W. T Martin) The Many Faces of Alexander Hamilton:  The Life and Legacy of America’s Most Elusive Founding Father (2006) and Your Obedient Servant: The Letters of Alexander Hamilton & Aaron Burr (2019).

In 2019, AHI announced the Alexander Hamilton Initiative for the Study of History.  This event will serve as an introduction to the spring semester reading cluster on The Federalist, directed by AHI President Robert Paquette. The reading group began during the fall semester, 2019, and is also open to the public.  Paquette will use Sunday’s event as an opportunity to discuss the history initiative and other AHI programming.

Food and refreshments will be served.  Signed copies of Your Obedient Servant will also be available at a discounted price.
