Sixth Annual David Aldrich Nelson Lecture in Constitutional Jurisprudence

The Alexander Hamilton Institute is pleased to announce that Professor Keith E. Whittington, William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Politics at Princeton University, will deliver the Sixth Annual David Aldrich Nelson Lecture in Constitutional Jurisprudence on September 17, 2013 at 4:00 p.m.  Room 2406B, in the Memorial Student Center at Texas A&M University. The event is co-sponsored by the AHI and the Department of Political Science at Texas A&M University.

Professor Whittington is an award-winning author of various works on American constitutional theory and development, federalism, judicial politics, and the presidency. His lecture “Is the Constitution a Cage?” will discuss the authority an inherited constitution has for the current generation and how we live with a relatively inflexible constitutional text.

The lecture honors David Aldrich Nelson (1932-2010), a distinguished federal judge who served for decades on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and was a charter member of the AHI’s board of directors.
