The hardcover copy of Mary Grabar’s Debunking Howard Zinn:  Exposing the Fake History That Turned a Generation against America (Regnery 2019) has sold out for a second time on Amazon as praise for the book continues to roll in.  Two recent reviews praise Dr. Grabar, Resident Fellow at The Alexander Hamilton Institute for the Study of Western Civilization, for her devastating exposé of the shoddy polemic that has been mainstreamed into history courses throughout the United States.

AHI’s Mary Grabar at a book signing event for Debunking Howard Zinn

Steven Frankel, Professor of Philosophy, Xavier University, reviewed Debunking Howard Zinn for the summer, 2020, issue of Interpretations:  A Journal of Political Philosophy.  Lauren Weiner, an independent scholar living in Baltimore, reviewed the book in the summer 2020 issue of Academic Questions, a publication of the National Association of Scholars.

Frankel call Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States (1980) “a political program masquerading as a history textbook.”  He praises Dr. Grabar for presenting “a convincing case” that shoddy and fraudulent “scholarship” appears on virtually “every page.”  Weiner commends Grabar for the thoroughness of her demolition of Zinn’s book. “Grabar has done a great service,” she concludes,  “[A]t least now there is a text out there with which tomorrow’s high schoolers could confront the Zinnian myths.”

A paperback edition from Regnery of Debunking Howard Zinn will be available in a few weeks.

AHI congratulates Dr. Grabar for a book that clearly has resonated with Middle America.
